Long of the short is yes, it does work but probably not for all instances.Microsoft has released a list of solutions for users to try and see if they can fix the problem themselves, and if you are one of the affected users, hopefully one of these proposed solutions would work. I put it back in and was successful in powering it on two more times but never long enough to get all the data I needed. Could not get it to come on for the life of me so I DID put it in the freezer and it DID turn on after a few hours! Now, it didn't stay for very long (30min) and I suspect it was a mobo issue and heat as these tablets are not designed very well. We had a SP3 die a few months ago, just boom off while the end user was using it. If that actually works, I will be amazed. I left the surface in the fridge for 3 hours - nothing more than that."
